On December 23, 2010, I was staring at my computer, not quite knowing how to respond to an email asking me about my new years eve plans. I tried putting it off for as long as I could until a sign reading “Ocala: 23 miles” didn’t move out of my eyesight quick enough. Turns out on my way home for Christmas I was passing through that cute little blonde email sender’s hometown. After a text message or two, directions to Longhorns, and a nervous heartbeat, I picked her up from a family dinner and we drove to Starbucks where we sat and talked for the next three hours. By the time I left at 11pm I had a seven hour drive ahead, a girlfriend, and not the slightest care in the world. Deciding to take that detour might have been the best decision I ever made. It’s been a good 182 days.
This is the single most adorable thing ever.
Chris, this girl is a lucky one.

I had a similar situation where on a whim I decided to visit Minneapolis! Which is totally unlike me. I now live here and it’s been over a year. Sometimes you just have to do things because you know you’ll regret not doing them. Congrats!
